ACOUSTICAL VEHICLE ALERTING SYSTEM (AVAS)
AVAS (Acoustical Vehicle Alerting System) is an audible warning device that generates artificial warning sounds in on and off road electric and hybrid vehicle applications. These required systems provide otherwise silent EVs with a safety feature that protects pedestrians, cyclists, and other motor vehicles from potential harm.
The Seger AVAS is a completely customizable system that is compliant with the mandatory ECE-R138 requirements. Seger offers two types: Active AVAS, which is equipped with an internal control unit and Passive AVAS which connects seamlessly with a vehicle’s existing ECU.
